The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has secured right of way for Segment 10 of the NLEX Harbor Link, allowing the project to inch ever closer to completion.
The segment, which spans Karuhatan, Valenzuela and C3 Caloocan, can now undergo full-swing production as there are no legal barriers remaining which might impede its progress.
The first section of the NLEX Harbor Link road is now 83% complete while its second section is at 5%. The government hopes that securing right of way will accelerate the progress even more so motorists can start using it during the holidays.
t“We are happy that our team was able to deliver 100 percent right-of-way for the NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10,” says DPWH Secretary Mark Villar. “We hope we can finish this just in time for the Christmas rush to help ease the public’s traffic woes.”
The highway traverses NLEX from MacArthur Highway in Valenzuela City and allows motorists to quickly pass Malabon City and C3 Road, Caloocan City; and R10 in Navotas City by avoiding traditional, traffic-plagued routes.
Completion of the NLEX Harbor Link project means that container trucks going in and out of Manila’s busy ports will have an easier time making their ways to the northern provinces. This also means that they will no longer be contributing to the congestion of roads to and from the city of Manila.
Aside from the easing of the capital’s traffic situation, the NLEX Harbor Link project is also expected to boost trade and attract investments.
